This week is full of interesting

Wednesday we went to a quiz bowl competition and placed first (beating Norfolk Catholic for the win) and now both our team and theirs qualified for state. So excited. (It's a four hour drive to Holdridge)

Yesterday I went to my grandma's funeral. I really miss her a lot, but talking about favorite moments with her with my family and friends made it much easier. It's still going to be hard, because right now... it's hard for me to even type this without tearing up but she'll always be in my heart.

And then today, in this order I 1.) fell asleep while doing research comp homework [so that isn't done]; 2.) my computer decided that it wanted to be difficult so it wiped all my documents off my account. That was fixed quickly with a system restore; 3.) Firefox didn't want me to print off articles, so I don't have that for research comp [Ms. Henre is going to murder me]; and 4.) my car wanted to have a flat tire this morning. I can't wait for work.

Well, now I'm kinda sad.

They blocked tumblr at the school. That's where I get some of my entertaining pictures and stuff...

Today is going to be awful...

I can already tell. I had forgotten about the Breakfast Club project and what I needed to do for it up until last night, so I stayed up until 12:30 working on just a couple of parts. Then I set my alarms to wake up at 5 so I could write the essay.

5 o'clock rolls around. My alarm goes off and I wake up and lay in bed. I think I either had a really bad dream last night or I got a fever or something but I was freezing cold and a little shaky. Nonetheless, I grab what I need and go to the computer, waiting as it takes forever to boot up. I typed up and proofread the essay once and it was 6:30. I printed off two copies, turned off the computer, and went back upstairs to get some breakfast. I attended my lesson at 7:10.

Now, as I sit in creative writing, I've got a pounding headache and I feel like I'm going to get sick. I have quiz bowl tonight until 6PM and then work til who knows how long... maybe I can convince my boss to let me go home early because I think I may die from exhaustion...

My whole weekend was awesome.

Friday: we went to a quiz bowl competition at Bellevue (and got free shirts). We did well but not well enough to get a trophy or anything. I was happy because I answered two questions (normally I don't answer more than one).

Saturday: we went to another quiz bowl competition. This one was in Sioux City. We received second place in the entire competition. The better part was beating an arrogant person on a team. You see, in the morning rounds (which don't really count toward placement in the tournament except how high you are seeded for the afternoon), we went against Sioux City East A. On their team was a player we will call Jake. Jake was very cocky and annoying. Sioux City East A beat us by less than 50 points in the morning. In the afternoon, we went against them again. A question came up that had the answer Taming of the Shrew. Jake answered "Taming of Shrew". This confused the reader and the timer. Jake then went on a huge rant about how he didn't want to have problems with answers again because it had already happened to him twice today. Eventually the timer went to the guy heading the competition, who came in the room once we were done with all the other questions and told the SSE A that the title had to be completely right, articles included. We won that round because of that. At the end, we were going to go and shake the other team's hands but Jake was angrily ripping up his scratch paper and crushing his pop can, so we decided to leave.
After the championship round, we discovered that Jake had left his nametag in the room. We were going to return it, but they had already left. We joked around on the way back that we should return the nametag to SSE along with a copy of Taming of the Shrew with the "the" underlined.

Sunday: One of my favorite television shows of right now is Sherlock (the BBC version). Well, I was talking about it at work and one of my coworkers asked me about it. I told him it was pretty much awesome. He said that he really liked the books and the Robert Downey Jr movies and that he would check it out. Later that night, I received a post onto my Facebook wall that he loved it so much and is now hooked on the series. My job as a Sherlockian fangirl was completed for that day. Now, I just have to have more people watch it. :)

(Sorry this was really long, but I've never had this awesome of a weekend before)
