This is a picture of “Capilla de Marmol” in Chile. It is a popular tourist attraction.
This happened last night while at play practice. The basketball people startled my friend Tiffany and I as we were going back up to lights booth.
And yeah! Happy Friday everyone :)

Tumblr!
Have I ever mentioned that I love tumblr? That place is amazing. tumblr is the first place where I started to learn how to blog. I think the reason I love tumblr so much is because people (99% of the time) don't judge other people on what they post or how they act because it's their blog. It's such a relaxed and carefree environment and it's really fun. Not to sound like a spokesperson or anything, but you should really check it out. The link is http://www.tumblr.com/ and if you want to follow me I am http://purpletimetravellingpenguins.tumblr.com/
What a lovely day...
It's really quite cold outside. Luckily I don't have to go outside today for very long, just to drive from school to home and home to school and probably school to the mall to people watch.

I love telling stories.
I've got yet another story. This weekend I created a poster on one of our marker boards at work for a special we have. I thought it was brilliant and it took oh, 2ish hours to complete. (It was all snowy and icy so I had plenty of time to do that) My manager hung it up after Daniel (our technical support person/cashier) and I approved it.
The next day, I came back to work after quiz bowl and looked up to see my brilliant drawing and what greeted me? A blank markerboard. Apparently some people don't appreciate when I do things because a.) they didn't do it and b.) it was too awesome for them to draw it. So I was angry the rest of the night.
Yesterday while I was home sick, Daniel texted me saying he had bought me a 64 pack of markers that didn't erase with an eraser, only water. He also said he would hide them from the girl who erased my drawing. This will be fun now. The next time I work is Saturday morning, and I'm bound and determined to draw my special back on the board.

Movies... now to find money....
There is one movie I am definitely going to see this year: The Hunger Games. I have no idea if it will be better than the book (I doubt it) but I'm willing to give it a try.
Big Bang Theory (one of my favorite tv shows)
The Big Bang Theory celebrated its 100th episode last night! It was fantastic. Leonard and Penny got back together. And... Raj, Howard, and Sheldon played Settlers of Katan! My friends Kat and Brock were freaking out, but I didn't understand it really. That is probably due to the fact that I've never played Settlers of Katan. Oh well, I will some day.

Well, it could've been worse.
Remember that flat tire I talked about? Apparently the cold caused the air to go out of my already leaky tire and make it all flat. I didn't break anything though (kind of proud of that) so it should be okay until my dad decides he wants to buy new tires, because I need them.

Start to a wonderful day :/
Well I woke up this morning (early) to work on my AP Calculus, since I got home late last night from work. I ended up falling asleep while doing my homework and so I did not get that done (also, I didn't quite understand all of it, so I therefore couldn't finish it). Figuring I'd be able to get help with my assignments, I set out early to go to school. I started my car up and it was cold out, so I let it sit for a little, but probably not long enough. Within a minute or two, I backed out of the driveway and started down the street. My car was moving very slowly, and at first I thought it was just cold. I took it easy down my street, not even reaching speeds of 25 mph. It was rattling more than normal, so that bothered me just a little bit. I turned and started down Norfolk Ave. but I wasn't able to keep up with the cars as mine wasn't even going above 20 mph now. I pulled my car into an empty lot and put it in park. My car is still probably a bit cold, I thought to myself. If I let it sit a bit longer, this problem will clear right up. I sat for a few minutes, listening to some Katy Perry and the beginning of a Maroon 5 song. I shifted my car into drive and began to pull out but it was still clunking along, making that horrid noise. So, I shifted the thing into park again and got out. I walked over to my passenger side and what did I see? I had a flat tire. Terrific. I called my mom's cell, worrying that I would be late to school. She didn't answer that, so I tried the home phone and I was upset by now. Eventually, my dad came to the lot; I parked my car along the street and he took me to school, and I'm still not done with my Calculus.

About Me
Well my name is Brooke. I'm 17 years old, and I'm a senior. My favorite color is purple and favorite food is popcorn.
I work at Valentino's and have for over a year now. Sometimes it isn't easy working with some of my coworkers but I trained a lot of them so we get along fairly easy. It is much better than it used to be, drama wise. There used to be so many fights and arguments but that has mostly gone away and we are all good friends now.
My favorite television shows (currently) are Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, Veronica Mars and Bones. I will also watch House and various CSI spinoffs from time to time.
My favorite books are the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games, Tess Gerritsen books, The Da Vinci Code, To Kill a Mockingbird, and various others. My sociology teacher is reading Tuesdays with Morrie right now and I love that book so far.
That's a little about me. (:

That was traumatizing....
I am no good at making phone calls, and I just made three phone calls and set up times for two of them! This is crazy! I was so nervous because I always stumble over words when I'm talking on the phone but I didn't do too bad :) now I just have to wait to return the phone call I made to 94 Rock [the person who does the show isn't there until Monday].

Basketball Games and Disrespect
So, I'm excited about the basketball game on Friday. I am excited to go even though I hear so many bad things about the Panther Posse. I'm not dissing on them or anything, but I just find so many things that they do sometimes to be so disrespectful. They have yelled and (from what I heard, since I was not at the last game) booed at the band for playing -- the iPod was apparently playing a song that they liked over the speakers and the band started to play -- and some of the cheers they do. I have even seen some of the members talking back to administration or teachers when told to behave better. I feel this kind of behavior is not acceptable for Norfolk High standards. Don't get me wrong; I love our Panther Posse. Ever since sophomore year, I always wanted to be in the group and loved when we got to participate in cheers with them.
However, times have changed. I hope that everyone in the group finds a little more respect for their peers and make this last year of high school for all the seniors more fun by everyone getting along at the games.

Much better!
I think the hardest part of writing something, whether it is a blog or an exposition for Research Composition, is figuring out what title you would like to use.

My blog
The title of my blog may say "I'm not insane or anything" but it's subject to change... I couldn't think of anything actually interesting at the time that I would type for the title of my blog, so just a heads-up. :)
